Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord -1 Cor. 15:58
People who persevere usually succeed at the point where others give up. At that point where you feel like giving up could be the moment your breakthrough is about to happen. No matter the challenge or opposition you're up against never give up while working for the Lord. In addition to Paul's statement in 1 Cor. 15:58 above, in his second letter to the Corinthian church he says, "Our light affliction which is but for a moment is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory." (2 Cor. 4:17).
Again Paul says in Romans 8:18, "I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." Never give up. I know from past experience that sometimes these words seem to mean nothing when we're in the midst of some fiery trial but just hold on and stay in prayer even when there seems to be no clarity in the situation or you just cannot understand. Remember the cloud of witnesses in Hebrews 12:1 (Therefore seeing we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us) and encourage yourself in the Lord by telling yourself, if they made it I can make it too.
Winston Churchill said the nose of the bull dog is slanted backwards so he doesn't have to let go and Evangelist Marilyn Hickey wrote a book on the theme "Having Bulldog Faith." We need to adopt that "Bulldog Faith" on this journey. I know sometimes even the people you're looking up to in the Kingdom of God will sometimes let you down. Sometimes their actions seem to be saying they don't want you around them. That's ok, Jesus didn't save you to serve anyone else as Lord but Him. Humble yourself keep on praying for everyone in the kingdom and remain steadfast, immoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord even when you're called everything except the child of God you know for sure you are, because He called you His child (It's not what people call you, it's who God calls you that is important).
Prayer: Father give us that bulldog faith we need to persevere at times when we feel like throwing in the towel. For we know the loving, merciful, kind, gracious and compassionate God you are Who has only excellent and perfect things in store for us when we hold on until the fullness of time comes according to your plan and purpose for us. Thank You Lord. Amen!!!
Encouragement: Hold on. No matter what the circumstance God is faithful to deliver His promise.
