We often go through life with very little knowledge that there is someone who placed us here
We have no awareness of who this person is and no one ever took the time to tell us
We just know we came into existence when our mother gave birth to us and we just go through life
Learning from those around us which includes our parents, teachers, when we get to that age
And anyone else we place some amount of trust and respect in.
To clearer illustrate in our minds this idea, let us look at a typical individuals life experience which
is a true story. Born on an island in the 1960's his first encounter in life from memory is being forced out of his home with his mother and three sisters. This was what one would call a shack in a shanty town area.
A bulldozer was smashing houses in the middle of the night and heaping them up in one large mountain of remains. This was to make way for the construction of new eight apartment buildings (called projects in the United States) called affordable housing (The area was called "Back-A-Wall and when renovated was called Tivoli Gardens). When it got to this house, as young as this baby was, it felt the house starting to move under the impact from the bulldozer.
The child's mother woke up hearing the noise from the tractor and feeling the house beginning to move and yelled as loud as she could. Her young daughters ran outside the house yelling to the driver of the tractor to stop. The driver was so alarmed to see people running from the house he immediately stopped. All the yelling and shouting was beginning to die down and the mother scrambled to grab what she could with the baby in one arm who was so frightened seeing two big bright lights from the tractor blearing at him and hearing voices which were lower than before but was still loud as everyone was frantically getting what they could to get out of the house.
The child's mother was a business woman who sold in a market square. She had a stall large enough for her and her children to sleep in. So she spread a bed on the floor in the stall and they all went to sleep for the night. That night turned into many more and the baby's grand mother came and took one of the three daughters and gave the mother a note with an address and a landlord's name for the property at the address which is where she ended up staying for a number of years.
While at this new address she met a man who would take bags of baked products to her home almost every evening when he was going home from the bakery where he worked. All the children would look forward to this gentleman with the bag(s) each evening. Eventually they began to live together and she had a daughter for him.
They both put their earnings together and bought a home in the early 1970's and lived in this house, bringing up the children to adulthood in the midst of much trials and persecution from outside forces.
They both remained there until their departure from this life in the 1990's. First the mother, then the gentleman who was father to all five of her children The grandmother had later returned the daughter once the mother was on her feet again.
The mother had struck some fortune while selling downtown in the capital city of this West Indian country. She now had a double salary from her union in the household and she would hit the "numbers" often (a game similar to the lottery). She also had what one would call partner (A time of saving amongst friends where everyone pooled money together on a weekly basis and one person gets it all from the pool each week and the banker collects one person's input as the banker's fee). The mother was the banker and one person's weekly input was at least a thousand dollars.
NEXT CHAPTER
He was born in a stable
There was no room for His parents in the Inn
They were tired and smelly and looked more like peasants
They didn't look like they could afford a night in a dingy motel let alone this Inn
As He entered this world from the birth canal
He was wrapped in rags and placed in a feeding trough for animals
He was a poor sight for anyone to behold
His father a carpenter, His mother too young to be employed
See how humbling an entry He made into this world
He could Have chosen a fine young lady living in a mansion or a princess in a palace
He could have chosen to have His birth announced to Royal subjects or in an earthly King's kingdom
He could have chosen to be born the heir to the richest man alive back then as the choice was His to make
You see, He existed before all creation; By Him, man and all things were created
He left His home in heaven, gave up His glory, chose a woman, wrapped himself in flesh and came through her birth canal
He was not fathered by any earthly man and was called the seed of the woman. the immaculate conception being placed in the womb by the Holy Ghost
Yes, it was His choice to be born to the carpenter and his espoused, the one blessed and highly favored among women
His birth wasn't heralded in the newspaper or on sound media but was announced by angels from heaven
It was not carried by kings' soldiers on horses to the various provinces but was spread abroad by shepherds who got the message while tending their flocks by night
It wasn't a swift method as it was not from an earthly king marked urgent
But it was that important to have everywhere that heard it buzzing
His entry was humbling and the beginning of His ministry was just the same
He was pointed out in a crowd by someone who was put here for just that reason
This person a cousin called John was here for just that purpose
He was the forerunner, John the baptizer. who was planned to be such before the beginning of time
All three of the Godhead was present when He was introduced to the world at the Jordan river by His cousin John
After John baptized Him he John saw the Holy Spirit descend upon Him in the form of a dove and heard the Father pleasantly announced, "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased."
Yes, our Messiah was confirmed even before He opened His mouth, before His first miracle, before completing forty days of fasting and prayer and defeating Satan in the wilderness
God our father knew that His Son would successfully complete His purpose and affirmed Him before He even began His ministry
Chap. 2
He wasn't known by many but He made His presence known wherever He went. First He conquered the enemies in the spirit whelm immediately after His baptism having been led by the Holy Spirit into thw wilderness where He stayed for forty days and nights fasting and praying. He was met there by the prince of this world, the devil, Satan who tempted Him three times and was each time conquered by Jesus using the Word of God.
From there he entered a city and went straight to the synagogue where He was handed the scoll and read from the scripture in Isaiah chapter 61 vs. 1-2, and declared that this scripture was being fulfilled at that present moment.
He called His disciples and began to proclaim that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, preaching all over the region and performing miracles signs and wonders to support His declaration. He made quite an impact in that region and attracted many followers. Followers who were with Him for various reasons.
His first miracle was to turn water into wine at a wedding feast for friends of His mother.
Hwent on to perform many other miracles.
